A little slice of Orkney, celebrating our most beloved seabird.
Known locally as the "tammie norrie," the puffin is one of Orkney's most iconic and adored visitors — with their bright orange feet, multicoloured bills, and dapper black-and-white plumage, it's easy to see why they're called the clowns of the sea! They return to Orkney each spring to breed, and can be spotted at the Brough of Birsay on the Orkney Mainland, or further afield at Westray's Castle o' Burrian on the outer isles.
This adorable puffin wood slice is handcrafted here in Orkney, lightly varnished for a beautiful natural finish, and complete with a hanging ribbon so it's ready to display the moment it arrives. Each slice measures approximately 8-10cm and because every piece of wood is different, no two are ever exactly alike.
A charming, unique little gift that brings a touch of Orkney's favourite tammie norrie into any home. 🐦❤️
